Gemini Omni Pro

Gemini Omni Pro: the stronger Omni tier Google DeepMind confirmed at I/O 2026, still without a release date.

What is Gemini Omni Pro?

Gemini Omni Pro is announced but not released, and Google has given no date.

At Google I/O on May 19, 2026, Demis Hassabis said Omni Pro would be available soon, according to the Brazilian outlet Olhar Digital, and DeepMind's Nicole Brichtova told TechCrunch it will ship when the team reaches "a step change above Flash." TechCrunch reported that Pro should perform better than Flash across all Omni tasks. Until Pro arrives, Gemini Omni Flash 1.1, released on August 27, 2026, is the newest Omni model, and it is live on Flashloop.

What Gemini Omni Pro could bring

  • Expected to beat Omni Flash across Omni tasks, the one improvement TechCrunch reported from Google at I/O

  • Possibly longer clips

Google has said the current 10-second cap isn't a model limitation, though it has not tied longer clips to Pro

  • More input and output types over time, such as images from audio or audio from video, which Google described as long-term plans for Omni without naming a model

  • Text, images and video read together in one prompt, if Pro keeps the design of Omni Flash

Prompting tips until Gemini Omni Pro lands

  • On Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 today, describe the first and last frame, then say how the camera moves from one to the other.
  • Ask for a single continuous shot when you want one scene, since Omni Flash tends to cut between shots unless told otherwise.
  • Assign reference images separate roles: the main character in one, wardrobe or location in the others.

Where Gemini Omni Pro could fit

  • Projects where Omni Flash quality falls short, if Pro delivers the step up Google described

  • Reference-driven scenes that need consistent characters across shots, if Pro keeps Omni Flash's inputs

  • Prompts that combine text, images and a source clip, if Pro accepts the same inputs as Omni Flash

Good to know before you generate

  • No release date: the only timing on record is Hassabis saying "soon"
  • No specs, pricing or model ID published
  • Google's own list of I/O 2026 announcements does not mention Omni Pro
  • Not available on Flashloop or in the Gemini API yet

Questions about Gemini Omni Pro

Has Google announced Gemini Omni Pro?

Yes, but only verbally. At Google I/O on May 19, 2026, Demis Hassabis said Omni Pro would be available soon, according to Olhar Digital, and Nicole Brichtova of Google DeepMind told TechCrunch it will come once it is "a step change above Flash." Google has published no product page, model ID or documentation for it.

When will Gemini Omni Pro come out?

Google has not given a date. As of October 23, 2026, Omni Pro had not appeared in the Gemini API, and we found no TestingCatalog report of Omni Pro strings in Google's apps. It could launch any time Google decides it clears that bar over Flash, but any specific date you see online is a guess.

How will Gemini Omni Pro differ from Gemini Omni Flash?

The only difference Google has described is quality: Nicole Brichtova said Pro will ship once it is "a step change above Flash," and TechCrunch reported that Pro should perform better across all Omni tasks. Flash 1.1 already supports clips of up to 10 seconds, extension up to 40 seconds and first and last frame control in the Gemini API. Whether Pro adds longer clips, higher native resolution or new modes is unconfirmed.

Is Gemini Omni Pro the same as Veo 4?

No. Google has not announced a Veo 4. On October 22, 2026, Google shut down the Veo 3.1 preview models in the Gemini API and pointed developers to Gemini Omni Flash, which suggests Omni is where Google's Gemini API video work is heading, although Veo 3.1 is still offered on Google Cloud.

Can I use Gemini Omni on Flashloop now?

Yes. Gemini Omni and Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 are live on Flashloop, with clips of 4 to 10 seconds at up to 4K. Flashloop lists Omni Pro as coming and plans to add it once Google opens it to developers.
